Procedure of the Intervention
Revision rhinoplasty is technically more complex than primary rhinoplasty due to scar tissue and pre-existing anatomical changes. The surgeon typically uses an open approach for better visualization. Structural cartilage grafts (from the septum, ear, or ribs) are often necessary to reconstruct the nose and correct deformities. Each case is unique and requires a personalized surgical plan.
Post-operative monitoring and recovery
Postoperative recovery is generally slower than after primary rhinoplasty due to secondary scarring. Swelling may persist longer (up to 18 months). A splint is worn for 10 days. Bruising is expected for 2 to 3 weeks. Close follow-up is required for 18 months.
