For the Allurion balloon: the capsule containing the deflated balloon is swallowed with a glass of water during a consultation.
Filling through a thin catheter
A thin catheter is used to fill it with 550 ml of fluid, and then it is removed.
Duration of the procedure
The procedure takes 15-20 minutes, without anesthesia or endoscopy.
Deflation and natural elimination
After 4 months, the balloon deflates automatically and is eliminated naturally through the body's natural processes.
Classic balloons: placed and removed by endoscopy
For conventional balloons: insertion is performed endoscopically under light sedation, and removal is performed after 6 months via the same route.
