Procedure of the Intervention

The procedure lasts 1 to 1.5 hours under local anesthesia (adults) or general anesthesia (children). An incision is made behind the ear, in the natural crease. The surgeon reshapes the cartilage using scoring or sutures to create the missing fold and bring the ear closer to the head. Excess conchal cartilage can be reduced if necessary. The scar is invisible behind the ear.

Post-operative monitoring and recovery

Wear a compression bandage day and night for 10 days, then only at night for an additional 2 weeks. Swelling and bruising will last 1 to 2 weeks. Moderate pain will be well controlled. Return to school or work is possible after 5-7 days. Final results will be visible in 2-3 months.
